Is this the Solution to Malawi’s Forex Nightmares

This drink is from Thailand.
It tastes good and it also looks very appealing.
We have tasted it, and seen it available in small convenience shops both in London and Manchester. In fact the large British supermarket chains ASDA and Sainsbury’s both stock it.
If products from Thailand can find a way to appeal to UK consumers (& there are many Thai products in the UK), why can’t many more products from Malawi do the same?

AMalawi maybe we’re missing a trick here? Maybe helping our companies export is what Government of Malawi should focus on more? Maybe this is the way out of our forex nightmares?

We certainly think so…

Sappe Public Company Ltd, the company which makes these drinks say that 82% of revenues are down to international sales. Think about that for a moment, 82%! That’s huge! Basically, international sales are helping the company remain profitable. To the tune of nearly US$142 million.
