The two videos below have been doing the rounds on Social media in recent weeks, and capture two moments in lead up to the 2019 Elections, when Chakwera, then Leader of opposition denounced the 2014 DPP Manifesto promises that hadn’t been honoured during Peter Mutharika’s Presidential term. In the videos Chakwera says DPP lied to Malawians, then proceeds to make promises of his own.

Malawians are pointing to the fact that in the more than 4 years that he has been President of Malawi, Chakwera’s MCP-led government has failed to honour the very same promises he made, and about which he once criticised his predecessor.
