But why is it not happening, why are governments hesitating to legislate to ensure that workers abroad are protected, seeing the governments in those countries will not do so of their own volition? What will it take to do the right thing? Another 100+ deaths?
Is the hesitation because essentially government has become a prisoner to big business? One that is no longer free to do what is humane and right. Is it the PM or president who is in charge, or the CEO’s of the large corporations?
Where is the world heading to if we prioritise profits over human life?
