The High Court in Lilongwe has sentenced former cabinet minister Uladi Mussa to five years in prison for abuse of office.
Mussa and former regional immigration officer David Kwanjana were found guilty of aiding 50 foreign nationals to obtain Malawian passports using illegal means.
But some Malawians are asking what happens to others who were involved in similar shady passport dealings, in particular the practice of selling diplomatic passports to politically-connected foreigners? What happens to them, and will the long arm of the law ever reach them?
